About us

We like beer, we like brewing. We live in London.

We’re not professional beer-writers and make no claims to be.

Bailey is a bloke; Boak is a lady.

We started this beer blog after a couple of years of being really interested in beer. The trigger was a big tour of Franconia, during which we drank so many nice beers, we just had to write about some of them.

We mostly write about the UK, especially London, because that’s where we are. Being based in the UK, we also end up writing about real ale a lot, but not exclusively. We also write about Somerset, Germany, Spain, Poland… we try to get about, in short.

We’re CAMRA members, but not bothered about getting a full pint glass if that means we don’t get a head.

You can email us at boakandbailey@gmail.com

We’re not interested in paid adverts or anything like that.

We really don’t like getting emails from PR people that aren’t remotely personalised, or which start by saying things like: “As big fans of beer, we thought you might be interested in an event next week to promote a really rubbish license-brewed lager based on a brand from Cambodia”.

If you’re a brewer or distributor, please feel free to send us some beer, but we won’t say nice things about it if we don’t like it.

Greeting from USA. You say you like to travel, have you ever considered trying the US beer scene?

I’ve been living in US for about 18 months now (originally from UK, then via parts of Europe, and finally Prague); this place is just awash with fabulous beers a minute sample of which I have attempted to write about. The Porter and Stouts are quite stunning and almost every brewery attempts an IPA, some quite successfully.
    Enjoying your adventures.

David — yes, it’s on the agenda, but probably not for a few years, for various reasons. We do enjoy American beer a lot when it turns up in the UK.
