We’ve moaned about Jack Frost before — it’s the Fuller’s beer no-one likes but which they trot out every winter. You never have any trouble getting a pint of that, but getting a cask London Porter, Festival Mild or Hock is blood near impossible if you don’t turn up at the right pub with the stars in alignment.
Well, Red Fox is in the same category. It’s a beer which, as far as we can tell, is based on a marketing concept: it’s autumn, lads — can you come up with something with red in it’s name? It’s boring. Bottled London Porter kicked its arse.
We love Fuller’s but, at times, it’s like being a Beatles fan: they withhold the good stuff and keep expecting you to buy gimmicky rubbish in the meantime.
Fullers: please sell cask London Porter from October to March and ditch the crappy seasonals!

This might be heresy – but I’m actually quite partial to it.
Agree on cask porter, however.
Agree on the above – this *must* change!
Red fox is indeed rubbish, but on the plus side I’ve heard Bengal Lancer is coming back in November.
Hear hear!
Traf Ale is rather good though, tried it last night.
Of course, we’re in a Young’s pub right now (The Rolling Stones). Will definitely track down some Trafalgar this week.
A choice of Porter and Lancer on the pumps would keep me happy!
I cant comment on Red Fox, bottled Old Winter Ale is pretty good in my opinion.
LP is great from bottle I have heard its the business from cask.
Full agreement here.
And why don’t they release Let it Be on DVD?
I seem to recall the pint of Red Fox I had was ok, though not as nice as Trafalgar; but then again I think Let It Be Naked gives an interesting insight into that album, the second disc is somewhat pointless though and yes the monos are fab.
They have keg London Porter pretty much permanently on at the Doric Arch, Euston station. Haven’t found the cask version yet to compare it with, the keg’s not a bad pint at all.
I think they have the cask quite often over the road at The Euston Flyer.
