This is a beautiful-looking dark brown beer, with an intriguing Christmas-spice, gingerbread aroma. However, for 7.2%, it was really thin — certainly refreshing, but that’s not what we look for in something billed as a big beer.

I love Traquair House Ale. I have never found it thin but I do usually get some really nice complex slightly tangy vinious yeast character in it. Sadly it hasnt been imported down here for some time.
Interesting. Wonder if our bottle or the batch from which it came might be a bad ‘un? It was really watery.
Sounds like you got a wrong ‘un to me.
What’s the body usually like? Syrupy? Or creamy?
