VIDEO: 10 Objects #10 — Can

This is the 10th, and last, in our series of really short films The Strange Rebirth of British Beer in 10 Objects.

It’s about something that was just becoming a hot topic in the UK when we sent the final draft of Brew Britannia off to the publishers, and which has got even hotter in the last few weeks — canned ‘craft beer’.

This has been a fun project, if rather time consuming, and we’ll certainly do something like this again. Thanks for watching!

VIDEO: 10 Objects #9 — Token

This is the 9th in our series of really short films The Strange Rebirth of British Beer in 10 Objects.

It’s about a beer festival token and the development of the modern British beer festival.

With thanks to David Shipman, one of the directors of the Birmingham Beer Bash for donating the token.

VIDEO: 10 OBJECTS #2: MAGAZINE

To accompany the publication of Brew Britannia we’re producing a series of ten 1 minute films featuring objects which reflect part of the story.

This second film is about Which? magazine’s April 1972 report on keg beer.

Footnote: it wasn’t the first time they’d written about beer — we understand there was a similar report in 1960.

VIDEO: 10 Objects #1: TIE

To accompany the publication of Brew Britannia we’re hoping to produce ten of these 1 minute films featuring objects which reflect part of the story.

This first film is about the official tie of the Society for the Preservation of Beers from the Wood, founded in 1963.

(Consider this a pilot — we’re still getting to used to the sound of our own voices, being bookworms at heart…)
